A Parasitic disease, also known as parasitosis, is an infectious disease caused or transmitted by a parasite. Parasitic infections are distributed virtually throughout the world, with high prevalence rates in undeveloped countries and regions. Parasitic diseases such as malaria, schistosomiasis, leishmaniasis, sleeping sickness and Chagas disease affect millions of people every year, leading to severe morbidity and death.
